The summer season is almost here and the Gili Islands are buzzing with energy. Read on for exciting new developments, from pampering wellness, cool places to stay, and conservation initiatives on land and water.

Get acquainted with Soma Vita Wellness, a new wellness centre at Koho Resort, offering premium massage treatments, spa rituals and rejuvenating therapies like an ice bath, sauna and a therapeutic magnesium jacuzzi. This month’s program at Manta Market, the thriving monthly artisan market, features BlackFish Tattoo Parlour, a Dirty Burgers BBQ, and a turtle mural courtesy of Proyek Penyu. The market brings together local traders showcasing their sustainable products, handcrafted gifts and snacks and street food.

There is more of the same sustainability in focus at Suparmans Pizza. Suparman’s Treevolution is a tree planting initiative across the Gili Islands. Learn more about it while sampling great food.

As turtle nesting season arrives, we have a guide to the Do’s and Don’ts when interacting with these amazing creatures. This issue we talk to Seth Emerick, co-owner of Gili Trawangan’s Tir Na Nog bar about what makes Gili T so special. The bar also held a fundraiser event for Sama Sama Bar following a devastating fire.

Check out our profile of the amazing White Shell Villa Gili Air and Koho Resort before booking your next weekend escape in the Gilis, and savour the authentic flavours of Italy at Sapori Nusantara. We also sat down with Hotel Villa Ombak Chef Erfan to discuss his passion for food.
