The River Houses are positioned beside a gentle stream and incorporate traditional Sasak craftsmanship with modern comforts. Along the shoreline, the Beachfront Villas provide direct access to the sea, while the Garden Houses and Cottages are surrounded by tropical greenery for a more secluded stay.

Natural materials, local influences and understated interiors create a sense of continuity between the accommodation and its surroundings. The result is a relaxed style that reflects the character of South Lombok rather than separating guests from it.

Pools, beach and outdoor spaces

Water is central to the Kuara experience. A winding saltwater river pool runs through the resort, creating a distinctive swimming experience surrounded by tropical vegetation. An oceanfront infinity pool offers another place to swim and take in the coastal setting.

The resort sits directly beside Bumbang Bay, giving guests access to the beach and the surrounding coastline. Complimentary activities can include bicycles, canoes, paddleboards and surfboards, subject to availability.

Kuara’s restaurant takes a local approach to dining, with menus shaped by the island’s land and sea. Ingredients are gathered from the resort’s garden and nearby fields, while spices and other ingredients are prepared using traditional techniques. Menus change with the seasons and what is available locally.

Guests can also take part in a farm-to-table cooking experience, beginning with a walk through the garden before moving into the open-air kitchen. Other culinary experiences include visiting a local morning market and learning about Lombok’s ingredients and food traditions.
