Got an hour to spare? Put it to good use and join Debris Free Friday at Blue Marlin Dive on 18 September!
From 5–6 PM, the Gili Trawangan community is coming together for a simple mission: get outside, clean up the island, and have a positive impact while doing it. Locals, travellers, divers, volunteers, and island businesses are all welcome to join.
Gili Trawangan is famous for what lies beneath the surface, from vibrant coral reefs to incredible marine life. But a healthy ocean starts on land. Rubbish left along beaches and streets can easily make its way into the water, so every clean-up is a chance to stop waste before it gets there.
You don’t need to be a diver, an environmental expert, or a regular volunteer to take part. All you need is one hour and a willingness to help. Bring your friends, meet some new people, and enjoy an afternoon of fresh air and community spirit.
Starting at Blue Marlin Dive, this week’s clean-up brings together people from different corners of the island who share one thing in common: a love for Gili Trawangan and its ocean. It’s a chance to swap stories, make new connections, and work together towards something that benefits everyone.
Because sometimes, making a difference is as simple as picking something up and putting it in the right place. Every piece of rubbish collected is one less piece that could end up on the beach, in the streets, or in the sea.
One hour. One community. A cleaner Gili.
Come along to Blue Marlin Dive on 18 September from 5–6 PM, bring a friend, and help make this Friday a little more meaningful. Let’s get together, get involved, and keep Gili Trawangan beautiful!
