Mediterranean-inspired sharing plates and late-night cocktails in Kuta Lombok

MOSS is a restaurant and bar on Jalan Raya Kuta, in the centre of Kuta Lombok. The kitchen is Mediterranean-inspired, with bold sharing plates, an upbeat playlist and a cocktail list that keeps people at the table long after dinner. MOSS sums up its own approach as “no rules, no rush”.

The space

MOSS is spread over two floors. The interior is light, bright and airy, with a timeless look and a touch of tropical style. It’s built for social dining: busy tables, shared plates and a setting that works for a relaxed dinner or a big night out with friends.

Sharing plates

The menu starts with Mediterranean small plates: burrata with mint and anchovies, spicy pistachio halloumi, olives with feta, gildas and Jamón ibérico. The crudo section includes tuna crudo with fermented belimbing and a snapper ceviche. There are also yakitori skewers, prawn dumplings and the MOSS lobster roll. You can order several small plates for the table or pair a few with a main.

Pasta, grill and house favourites

Pasta includes Nonna’s carbonara with guanciale, pecorino and Parmigiano, truffle ricotta ravioli and a pesto pasta. From the grill come mahi mahi, Nonno’s roasted chicken with confit lemon, olives and rosemary, and the signature Black Angus grass-fed tenderloin with Le Relais sauce. House favourites include roasted bone marrow and the smash burger. Sides include salads, crispy potatoes and buttered asparagus, and there are vegetarian options across the menu.

Desserts

Zia’s tiramisu is made for sharing. The chocolate olive oil cake comes with roasted almonds and whipped cream, and the vanilla ice cream is finished with olive oil. For a sweet drink, try the Nutella Martini or the Amaretto Sour.

Cocktails and drinks

Cocktails are central to MOSS. The list covers classics and house creations such as the Basil Highball, Yuzu Margarita, House Paloma, Espresso Martini, Negroni and Tinto Verano. Alcohol-free options include the Lavender Tonic Fizz and the Not So Dirty Martini. Wine, beer, seltzers, soft drinks, coffee and tea are also available.
