Padel and wellness on Kuta Beach, Lombok

Laga Padel Club is a new padel and wellness destination being developed on more than 12,000 square metres of beachfront land in Kuta, South Lombok. Scheduled to open in early 2027, the project is centred around international-standard padel courts alongside wellness, recovery, dining and community spaces. The club is co-founded by former GB No.1 padel player and National Junior Coach Frankie Langan, whose experience informs the court design and playing environment. Laga is being developed for a broad range of players, from beginners and social players to juniors and competitive athletes, within a relaxed coastal setting.

Padel courts and player development

Padel is at the centre of Laga’s offering. The current plans include six state-of-the-art courts built to international standards, including a Centre Court intended for matches, events and tournaments. The courts are designed to accommodate different levels of play, making the club suitable for people discovering padel as well as experienced players.

Coaching and player development will form an important part of the club. Programmes are planned for beginners, experienced players, juniors, social players and competitive athletes. The combination of structured coaching and social play is intended to create an active community around the courts rather than simply provide facilities for casual games.

Wellness and recovery

Laga extends beyond racket sport with a dedicated wellness and recovery component. Planned facilities include ice baths and saunas, alongside Pilates and swimming facilities. These spaces are intended to complement time on court by providing opportunities for recovery, movement and relaxation.

The wellness concept is integrated into the wider destination rather than treated as a separate offering. Players can move between sport, recovery and social spaces during their visit, creating a broader active-lifestyle experience around the club.

Food, drink and social spaces

Food and drink will form part of the Laga experience, with the club planning dedicated dining concepts within the development. The current offering is described as being influenced by wood-fire cooking and Mediterranean flavours, with an emphasis on quality ingredients and food prepared from scratch.

The wider club is also planned with social and community spaces where members, visitors and local residents can spend time away from the courts. Regular community dining nights and events are planned as part of the social programme.

Family-friendly facilities

Laga is being designed to accommodate families as well as individual players and groups. A dedicated crèche is planned within the development, allowing parents to use the club while their children are cared for on site. The family-friendly approach forms part of Laga’s wider goal of making its sporting and lifestyle facilities accessible to different groups within the community.

Laga living and beachfront setting

The wider Laga development includes Laga Living, a planned collection of beachfront residences connected to the destination. The residences are intended to provide accommodation within the wider sports and lifestyle environment, with the concept bringing together stays, padel, wellness, pool and the surrounding coastline.

Laga is located on the shores of Kuta in South Lombok, an area known for its beaches, surf culture and growing active-lifestyle scene. Its beachfront location places the development within the broader Kuta environment while giving the project a dedicated setting for sport, wellness and community activities.

Sustainability and community

Sustainability is incorporated into the wider development approach. The project outlines initiatives focused on responsible land use, local employment and training, waste reduction and protection of Lombok’s marine environment. Laga is also connected to broader community and environmental initiatives addressing waste management and plastic pollution.

With its opening planned for early 2027, Laga Padel Club is currently a development rather than an operating accommodation or sports venue. The project is being positioned around the combination of international-standard padel, wellness, dining, family facilities and beachfront living in Kuta, Lombok.
