The resort is the brainchild of Hong Kong born sisters Claire and Valia Gontard who returned to their Indonesian roots to create a new hospitality concept in South Lombok. It is one that embraces Indonesia’s culture, nature and heritage, while offering an upscale service offering.

Each of the hillside villas span 50 square metres of luxe interiors and outdoor space. The modern detailing makes use of natural wood, stone and handcrafted fixtures and soft furnishings. Expect custom-made ceramics and handwoven textiles, as well as plush seating, luxury bedding and a stocked mini bar.

The spacious ensuite bathrooms feature a rain shower and the overhanging outdoor verandah affords lush valley views. Villas also offer a safety deposit box and luxury skin care amenities. The elevated, back to nature position of the villas is one of its main attractions, although it’s not recommended for those with limited mobility.

Somewhere Lombok houses a communal resort area comprising tropical gardens, a pool terrace, lounge and restaurant to mingle and socialise. The inventive restaurant menu covers all bases for just about every discerning palate, with sharable small plates and hearty mains including steaks, pasta and more. Do save room for an irresistible sweet ending too, like chocolate truffles and classic Tiramisu.

The menu features local staples such as Ayam Taliwang, Sate Rembiga, Jackfruit Rendang and Urap Urap plus other Asian dishes and the eclectic flavours of Europe and the Mediterranean.
